The scientifically based and highly sophisticated CAD-CAM method (Computer-Aided-Designed, Computer-Aided-Machined), in which the desired ceramic restoration is virtually designed or constructed in 3 dimensions directly on the computer in our practice (“chairside”) after taking an optical impression of your defective tooth with a special camera. The virtual design is then immediately ground out of a color-matched ceramic blank in our computer-controlled precision grinding machines. The ceramic restoration (ceramic crown, ceramic onlay, ceramic inlay, ceramic partial crown or ceramic bridge), which may still need to be individualized in terms of shade and fired, can then be adhesively bonded into the defective tooth.
