How does the clear braces/aligner method work?
Based on 3D planning and visualization of the desired treatment goal, the treatment is planned and visualized three-dimensionally on the computer in advance. The entire treatment is divided into numerous very small intermediate steps. An aligner is produced for each intermediate step. As a patient, you simply change the numbered aligners/braces at home every 12 days, so that you get closer to your treatment goal step by step.
How does treatment work?
Your current dental situation is analyzed and prepared using a 3D scan. You can see how your teeth will look at the end of the treatment and what your new smile will look like. People often think that straightening with a dental splint is enough. However, it is usually the case that aesthetic optimization work needs to be carried out(veneers, composite build-ups, etc.). This is necessary in order to “model” the perfect smile. This requires the expertise and experience of the treating dentist. Once the treatment plan has been jointly agreed, the splints are produced, which you will be given and explained in detail at a follow-up appointment. In the following weeks, short follow-up appointments are useful to check the progress and, if necessary, to take small measures to support the correction. This is often combined with professional oral hygiene appointmentsin order to take optimum care of your teeth while you are wearing the aligners.
Summary
This form of tooth correction is simply effective, practical and uncomplicated. The advantages are obvious:
- No pain, comfortable to wear compared to conventional wire braces;
- Barely visible, transparent braces and therefore almost invisible braces;
- Perfect dental hygiene is possible during treatment: as the transparent, clear aligners / splints are removable, they can and must be taken out when eating and for dental hygiene. Unrestricted dental hygiene is therefore possible as without braces;
- Relatively fast treatment;
- Manageable treatment costs;
- As you change the aligners (= transparent splints) yourself at home from stage to stage, you usually only need to visit your dentist in Kitzbühel for a check-up every 2-5 months;
