Sinus lift
If bone augmentation is necessary, we endeavor to do this as minimally invasively and tissue-sparingly as possible.
Good to know
There are numerous cases and causes of bone loss. Patients often come to us after a tooth has been extracted, they have waited to have a tooth replaced and the bone has continued to deteriorate in the meantime. Or because they have periodontitis and this has not been treated consistently and sustainably and the inflammation of the periodontium has led to bone loss. To name just two examples. Bone loss is no reason to despair. In most cases, a solution can be realized with fixed dentures. It is important that you do not wait too long before undergoing treatment. Waiting usually worsens the situation. It is also advantageous if the patient chooses our immediate restoration concept. In other words, extraction is immediately followed by implantation with a temporary restoration. This is because immediate implantation increases the metabolism in the bone, activates the meridians and enables the implant to heal more quickly.
How does treatment work?
If bone augmentation is necessary, a so-called sinus lift (an elevation of the sinus floor) is used. This specific surgical method of maxillofacial surgery aims to strengthen the too thin floor of the maxillary sinus. We attach great importance to the ideal immunological preparation of patients. For this reason, we have developed a customized bone healing protocol that provides the patient with optimal support in the pre- and post-operative phases. The supplementation of micronutrients based on orthomolecular principles is one of the many pillars that come into play here. It is always advisable to lead a healthy lifestyle before and after an operation in order to promote your body’s ability to regenerate. The procedure itself takes between 50 minutes and 90 minutes per region. Depending on the extent of the work performed, there may be minimal to moderate swelling in the days following the procedure. The more time you have to recover after the procedure and the less or no stress you are exposed to, such as long car journeys or flights, the better you will recover. The consistent continuation of the Bone Healing Protocol supports your regeneration process. The focus of all our measures is the ideal preparation of our patients, an effective operation and the promotion of the healing process and stabilization of the immune system throughout the entire process. Particularly during the maintenance phase in the following years, it is important that you focus on a healthy lifestyle with sufficient recovery phases in order to cope well with the stress of everyday life.
Summary
BONE AUGMENTATION IS EASY TO IMPLEMENT IN MANY CASES WITH THE RIGHT KNOW-HOW
Do not be confused if you are told that bone augmentation is necessary. Bone augmentation measures may be deemed necessary if there is no longer sufficient bone in the area where implants are to be anchored. We work with the most modern techniques and methods to make bone augmentation as effective as possible and to provide you with sufficient support to ensure that regeneration and healing progresses quickly. If you are already edentulous at this point, it is important that you do not wait any longer before having a restoration made. Bone resorption does not stop if you do not anchor implants, which can reduce the likelihood that there will be sufficient opportunity to anchor fixed dentures in the affected areas. At this point, it is always helpful to discuss rapid clarification and treatment recommendations, including cost estimates, so that you can make decisions that will improve your overall health.
